The Basics
Menasha Behavioral Health is a treatment facility located in Manesha, Wisconsin. As part of Thedacare—a healthcare provider catering to the Fox Valley region in Wisconsin—MBH provides mental health services as well as outpatient chemical dependency treatment. Thedacare was originally founded in 1999 and now is an expansive network spanning across 14 counties with 35 specialty clinics and seven hospitals. Only a few of the clinics offer mental health services, and chemical dependency support services are limited to the Menasha facility.
Treatment and Staff
Outpatient treatment at MBH is designed for adults over the age of 18. Exceptions can be made for young adults who have completed high school and are in need of substance abuse care. Before enrollment into a treatment program, all clients must schedule an assessment—a 90- minute interview proctored by an intake counselor.
Following the screening process, clients are either admitted to the general outpatient program or referred out if they need more intensive treatment, as inpatient and detox services are not available. Those requiring dual diagnosis support are welcome with specialized services available for co-occurring disorders. All treatment is evidence-based, and relies mainly on CBT.
Length of treatment and frequency of attendance is dependent on an individualized treatment plan. Clients attend group therapy facilitated by CADCs which focus on relapse prevention and strategies for improving life quality. Individual therapy is scheduled independently depending on individual need. Support groups—such as 12-step meetings—may be encouraged so clients can develop outside peer support to sustain recovery. MBH provides clients with additional support including medication management and psychological screenings.
Extras
MBH offers psychological support as well as other special services. Biofeedback is available for clients that may benefit from brain monitoring and behavioral modification.
