Maui Recovery Review
Located in Kihei, Hawaii, Maui Recovery is a multi-faceted behavioral health organization that offers treatment programs to adults struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. Accommodations and Food
The facility has a total of eight beds with upscale accommodations. Both shared and private rooms are available with queen-sized beds, dressers and closet space. The property features grassy outdoor areas with palm trees and a swimming pool, in addition to being walking distance from the beach. Throughout their stay, clients are served three meals a day with menus designed with the of nutritionists.
Treatment and Staff
Upon intake, residents go through an initial assessment process to help staff members develop their individualized treatment plans. For those in need of detox services, Maui Recovery works with local doctors to help clients find the services they need to stabilize. Once treatment begins, residents attend both individual and group therapy that employs evidence-based practices, such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and EMDR.
While the specifics of each plan may vary, all clients attend rotating groups that cover mindfulness, relapse prevention, 12-step recovery, psychoeducation, spirituality and addiction as a disease. Somatic therapy is also available as is dual diagnosis support.
The staff consists of CSACs, LMFTs, LCSWs, LMHCs and additional Master’s and PhD-level counselors.
Extras
Residents also participate in recreational and exercise groups such as canoeing, hiking, beach trips and going to the gym. Besides residential care, the facility offers outpatient treatment in a range of intensities including Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). Those who complete primary care can step down the intensity of their treatment as a form of aftercare.
