The Basics
Based out of Kihei, Hawaii, Maui Recovery is a well-rounded behavioral health facility that provides treatment to adults struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. Aside from its residential treatment options, the facility also provides outpatient, Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).
Treatment and Staff
Before treatment begins, clients undergo an initial intake and assessment to help staff members develop an individualized treatment plan. The PHP consists of a full day of treatment, five days a week, whereas the IOP is more flexible with nine hours of weekly therapy. While the specifics of each plan may vary, clients attend both individual and group therapy that uses evidence-based care practices like CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and EMDR.
Group sessions cover a range of topics including mindfulness training, relapse prevention, 12-step recovery, psychoeducation, spirituality and the disease model of addiction. Somatic therapy and dual diagnosis support are also available.
The staff at Maui Recovery Outpatient consists of LMFTs, CSACs, LCSWs, LMHCs and additional Master’s and PhD-level clinicians.
Extras
Aside from the above, the organization provides standalone psychiatric assessments and family therapy services. Those who complete a primary care program can step down to the program’s aftercare plan.
