The Basics
Based out of San Rafael, California, Marin Outpatient and Recovery Services (MORS) is a drug and alcohol treatment facility offering basic outpatient services and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), as well as standalone group counseling and follow-up care for substance abuse and chemical addiction. Treatment and Staff
After an initial assessment, it is determined which treatment track best fit each client’s needs and an individualized plan is developed. Though both standard outpatient and IOP use similar treatment modalities, they differ in how many hours a week is spent in sessions. All programs include individual and group therapy using CBT, family systems and traditional talk therapy. Groups cover psycho-education, life skills development, relapse prevention and emotional processing. Clients are also encouraged to attend off-site AA/NA meetings and other support groups.
Staff is relatively small but includes Master’s- and PhD-level counselors as well as an LMFT and two CACs.
Extras
Marin Outpatient and Recovery Services also provides a number of continuing care and aftercare options. Clients who have completed a treatment track can step down to one of several local and discreet sober living homes run by the facility. Clients can also arrange phone check-ins with staff members for continuing care.
Other services include interventions, toxicology screening and both couple’s and family therapy on a stand-alone basis.
