The Basics

Treatment and Staff

Programming includes multiple group sessions offered at various times throughout the day, at least one individual session per week and required AA/NA meetings. There are groups that are specifically dedicated to clients who require trauma-informed care and co-occurring disorders.
After a period of six months, clients usually step down to less intensive care for another six months. Typically, clients continue to attend group two or three times week and at least one individual session per month, as needed. Therapy methods in all programs include psychoeducation, CBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and holistic approaches like exercise and nutritional counseling. Marbella Recovery emphasizes the 12-step philosophy of recovery and clients are required to attend AA meetings in the evenings.
The team at Marbella features an eclectic group, including a clinical psychologist and a number of Master’s-level therapists, as well as addiction counselors who are in recovery themselves. The Director of Marbella Recovery has more than 20 years clean and has served on the World Board of an international 12-step organization. Therapy is offered in Spanish, English, French, Dutch and German.

There is a certified yoga instructor on staff and recovery-oriented yoga classes are offered several times a week.
Marbella provides a support group for families at least once per month.
