The Basics
Lubbock Faith Center (LFC) is a sober living facility in the large northwestern Texas city of Lubbock, which acts as an economic and healthcare hub for north Texas and the surrounding states. The LFC community seeks to help its residents in the following areas:
1. Recovery from active addiction.
2. Recovery toward purpose.
3. Growth and a ongoing maintenance of a recovery/spiritual foundation.
4. Experiencing life.
Lubbock Faith Center was established in 1988 and is located near Hodges Park and Llano Estacado Lake.
Accommodations and Amenities
LFC accepts male and female residents, with an average stay of six months. While the facility is fairly basic and without luxury amenities, its décor includes many home-like touches including plants and an aquarium. Men are housed upstairs, women downstairs, and all residents have roommates. The residence features common areas for reading, TV and games. There is an industrial kitchen and coffee station, and the kitchen staff prepares breakfast and dinner for residents.
Rules and Regulations
Residents attend a morning meditation session each day at 8am. They’re required to attend four 12-step meetings each week. LFC hosts three on-site 12-step meetings each week, and residents can find several additional meetings nearby. In addition, residents take two psychoeducation and/or life skills classes at the facility each week. These can include topics such as job skills and addiction education.
The curfew for residents is 11pm on week days and 12pm on weekends. All residents complete rotating chore assignments each week and are subject to random drug screenings.
Extras
Residents can keep their cars at the facility and may bring computers and cell phones. Many of the house staff and counseling staff are also in recovery, and former residents remark on the supportive and empathic atmosphere at LFC.

Its peer support requirements and additional classes ensure residents continue to improve their life skills and build a healthy network of friends as they continue to take new steps in sobriety.
