Loving Solutions Review
Loving Solutions is a sober living facility for women struggling with methamphetamines in Shreveport, Louisiana. This is a Christ-centered environment that teaches a variety of life skills. It also facilitates classes and personal care assistance, and a discipleship in Celebrate Recovery. Dr. and Mrs. Nick Goeders founded Loving Solutions. Dr. Goeders has been working with addicts for over 35 years and has witnessed the particularly devastating effects of meth use on women. They wanted to create a safe, supportive place for women who had either recently left a treatment program or incarceration. To date, Loving Solutions is the only women’s only sober living facility of its kind in the Shreveport area.
Accommodations and Amenities
The Loving Solutions home can accommodate up to eight women in four bedrooms. Some of the rooms have bunk beds, and the others have two twin beds. The house itself is very clean and spacious. There are lovely sitting areas throughout, a piano, a funky picnic style dining table, and large stone fireplace. The front door opens up to a pond that is surrounded by trees.
All food is provided for the clients via generous donations from Loving Solution supporters.
In addition to the eight clients, there is also a full time house manager who lives on site, who is referred to as the “house mother.”
Rules and Regulations
Loving Solutions is a year long program that includes counseling, trauma treatment, job training, and weekly coaching sessions. Clients who typically apply are either coming out of jail or an inpatient facility. Above all, they must be willing to fully commit to Loving Solutions. Once accepted, the women receive a sponsor and an introduction to the teachings of Christ. All incoming residents must be totally clean and sober prior to move in.
The program incorporates job training, money management, and the Genesis Process, which is trauma recovery counseling. Clients have life skills training and work towards being financially independent while receiving personal care assistance, and advocacy services.
Throughout this program clients build their day to day routine, work together, help others, support their community and are active in the 12 steps.

What sets Loving Solutions apart from other programs is the focus on giving the women in the house a second chance at life. They teach them the valuable life skills they may not receive anywhere else. Addiction affects women differently than it affects men. By living in the Loving Solutions house, clients can relate to each other’s struggles and know that they are in good care, regardless of their past experiences. While it is a Christ centered program that expects clients to fully assimilate to a lifestyle in faith, the goal is to provide them with life affirming, positive changes. As a result, this Shreveport sober living not only empowers women, but also allows them to be self-sufficient in sobriety.
