Albany OregonThe Basics

Linn County Mental Health Services is a behavioral and mental health service organization providing care for the Albany, Corvallis, Lebanon and Sweet Home communities in the state or Oregon. The Alcohol and Drug Treatment Program is an outpatient substance abuse treatment track for adults and adolescents. With over 40 years of experience, this network of facilities provides flexible treatment options that are peer-driven, dividing clients by age group.

Treatment and Staff

The Linn County drug and alcohol program is individualized and tailored based on each client’s assessment. Each individual must schedule an assessment appointment prior to enrollment. Adolescent clients and their family members may be assessed as well to treat the whole family system. During the screening, clients who are in need of dual diagnosis support are also seen by the staff Psychiatrist. If a client requires medication, a medical doctor oversees prescribing and medication management.

All treatment for adults and adolescents is facilitated through an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Depending on the client’s assessment, they may attend therapeutic activities once to three times per week. For three hours each day, clients attend group therapy. Counselors utilize Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) and DBT techniques during groups and individual therapy. Clients focus on their behavioral patterns and habits of thought that prevent them from maximizing their recovery. Family therapy is also offered and may take the place of the client’s weekly individual therapy session.

Adult clients are encouraged to attend 12-step recovery meetings and adolescents are steered towards Alanon and Alateen. Clients also attend psychoeducation sessions that may fulfill court mandated requirements. The staff works with adolescents to meet Juvenile Drug Court requirements as well. All clients are expected to remain abstinent during treatment and are drug tested regularly. The staff consist of LADCs as well as a psychiatrist for mental health needs and medication.

Extras

Every Monday evening, LCMHS offers a family group for the support network and loved ones of clients. Counselors work with the loved ones through the family program to create healthy relationships. The facility offers transportation assistance for clients in need to help them make appointments.
