Lighthouse Recovery Review
Lighthouse Recovery is a men’s only community-based sober home located in Dallas, TX. Clients reside in upscale homes and receive individualized programming. They employ a holistic approach and include clients’ families in the process. The goal is to help them gain some autonomy while building a supportive and sober community. This is a 12-step-based program that incorporates off-site therapy and coordinated care with each client’s personal treatment team. Lighthouse Recovery has four sober living locations.
Accommodations and Amenities
The four upscale residences are all located within the affluent Dallas neighborhood of Preston Hollow. The homes are Deep Valley, Jubilee, Northhaven, and Silverton. The area provides easy access to shopping, dining, parks, hiking trails and more.
Each of the homes have between four and five bedrooms, and three to four bathrooms. All of the facilities with the exception of one that accommodates seven clients, offers housing for up to eight. There are many amenities in each location, including large, flat screen TV’s, game consoles, desktop computers, Wifi and washer/dryers. Other extras include gardens, spacious backyards, ping pong tables, and a pool table.
Healthy foods are provided at all facilities. Specific dietary restrictions are accommodated as well.
Rules and Regulations
Each of the clients receive an individualized treatment plan that includes a structured plan with a verbal commitment of three months. The program provides three process groups per week along with one house meeting.
Off site therapy is mandatory in this program, and as clients progress through their program they step down in the number of days of therapy per week. Therapy in this setting focuses on trauma and offers a number of evidence-based protocols. Both group and individual therapy focus on coping skills and stress management while also addressing any dual diagnosis and providing addiction education. Common approaches used within the clinical setting are EMDR and CBT.
Group therapy helps clients learn how to establish healthy boundaries and improve communication while developing and fostering empathy. In addition to key features used within the program there is programming for clients struggling with things like sex addiction and other acute mental illnesses.
The team at Lighthouse Recovery coordinates with each client’s individual treatment team to provide the right medical monitoring. Additionally programming works with family members, primary care physicians and therapists to provide a continuum of care. This service extends to the legal system as well as the clients employer and/or school, if needed. There is also random drug testing for every client.
On-site staff includes a full time house manager. There is also a small client-to-staff ratio throughout the rest of the program of three-to-one. Staff includes LCSW, LPC and community managers.
Extras
The program provides transportation to all AA meetings, work events, appointments and therapy, as needed.
After graduation Lighthouse Recovery offers up to one year of extended case management. This consists of regular check-in with staff.
