The Basics
Lighthouse Counseling Services, Inc. is a private counseling practice that offers a wide variety of therapeutic services with a Christian-faith perspective. With a network of six facilities throughout Western Kentucky, clients have the option to choose the location that best suits their needs. LCSI’s substance abuse treatment program is state-certified and provides both a basic outpatient track and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
Treatment and Staff
Before treatment begins, clients are first assessed and evaluated to determine whether the basic services or the IOP is best suited to their needs. An individualized treatment plan is developed to determine which therapy methods should be implemented and how often.
The substance abuse treatment program at LCSI, known as Navigation, consists of several different treatment modalities. The basic track requires clients to participate in up to 10 hours of weekly therapy while the IOP requires a minimum of 10 hours. All therapies are based in CBT and also integrate teachings from the Christian faith. Therapies include individual and group therapy, family therapy, adolescent services, aftercare and addiction education. Individualized plans may include any or all of the various therapies.
The program does not incorporate the 12 steps, however, clients are strongly encouraged to attend meetings outside of treatment and may be referred to a local chapter by one of the counselors.
The staff at LCSI consists of LCSWs, LPCCs, CSWs, CADCs and LPCAs.
Extras
LCSI has a range of adjunct services available including a sex offender treatment program, a batterer intervention program, an anger management program, client advocacy services as well as counseling services for numerous emotional, mental and behavioral issues and disorders.
