Based out of the coastal town of Wilmington, North Carolina, Lifeline Treatment Center is a broad behavioral health facility that offers flexible outpatient and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for clients struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. The program is open exclusively to men and draws upon a range of different treatment modalities.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning a program, all clients go through an initial intake and assessment process to help staff members develop their care plans. Because the program is outpatient only, those in need of medical detox services need to seek them elsewhere before beginning treatment. As mentioned, there are different intensities for different cases with IOP being the more intensive option.
Once stabilized, participants typically attend a combination of group, individual and family therapy sessions using evidence-based therapies including CBT, DBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Dual diagnosis support, trauma-informed care and medication management services are available as well. In addition to the clinical approaches outlined above, the facility also includes 12-step support and faith-based counseling as necessary. Group sessions cover many different topics including psychoeducation, breath work, relapse prevention, codependency, coping strategies, healthy boundaries and life skills.
The staff at Lifeline Treatment Center consists of psychiatrists, LPCs, LCSWs and additional Master’s-level counselors.
Lifeline also facilitates some expressive and experiential options including music and art therapy. As an added bonus, the facility also offers brainwave training through biofeedback. Those who complete one of the programs mentioned above can also work staff members to develop step-down aftercare plans as necessary.
In all, Lifeline Treatment Center is a well-rounded outpatient option for men struggling with addiction and related behavioral health issues. All treatment plans are flexible and draw on a range of different care methods. The program features psychiatric oversight as well as support for co-occurring disorders, evidence-based treatment, educational groups and expressive therapy as well. In addition to these clinical approaches, the program also stresses 12-step recovery and faith-based treatment whenever applicable. Though the cost of these programs may vary on a case-by-case basis, Lifeline Treatment Center remains a program worth considering for men in the area.
