The client’s entire stay is organized through a personal program coordinator. If needed, the facility has a chauffeur pick up the client from anywhere in the UK. Treatment and Staff

To this end, the physical, mental, social and spiritual elements of each person are all components of recovery. During intake, clients undergo a comprehensive assessment that includes medical, psychiatric and psychological components. From there, the client and staff work together to develop the most effective treatment plan tailored to meet the specific needs of the client. If needed, Life Works provides a tailored medical detox program that includes around the clock supervision and safe medication to ease withdrawal symptoms.
The Cottage specializes in the care of clients with substance use disorders, eating disorders, gambling addictions, depression, anxiety and executive stress. The facility offers an individualized approach to treatment that integrates a host of therapies including evidence-based methods like CBT and DBT, the spiritual 12-step recovery model and complementary models like yoga, reflexology, meditation and Shiatsu, a form of Japanese physical therapy that strengthens the body’s ability to heal itself. Other complementary therapies include aromatherapy massage, indian head massage and acupuncture. The Cottage also utilizes holistic methods like drama therapy, experiential learning through equine therapy as well as psychoeducational courses like nutritional support, addiction as a disease and relapse prevention. The Life Works team is comprised of primary therapists, complementary therapists, psychiatrist, dietician, a nursing staff, housekeeper, chef and personal trainer.

All of these activities are arranged through the client’s personal support worker, who is available around the clock.
The facility provides a two day family works program to help re-establish trust and communication between clients and their family.
