The Basics
Life Management Resources (LMR) is a locally owned business that aims to provide comprehensive chemical dependency treatment and services. With facilities in the communities of Plano, Wylie, and McKinney, Texas, clients have the option to choose the location that best caters to their recovery needs. LMR offers an outpatient adolescent treatment program and an adult Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP).
Treatment and Staff
The adult IOP at LMR is intended for those in early sobriety. The program consists of three group sessions per week for eight weeks and separately scheduled individual sessions, typically once a week. During group therapy numerous addiction and recovery related topics are covered, including relapse prevention, life skills development, anger management, stress management, goal-setting, co-dependency, conflict resolution, building healthy relationships and 12-step work. Meditation and art therapy are also incorporated. LMR also offers treatment for those with co-occurring disorders through medication management assistance and trained staff that help with these specific needs in individual counseling.
LMR also offers an outpatient program for adolescents. The program is two months long and meets for group therapy three times a week after school from 6pm to 8pm, once a week for separately scheduled individual sessions and twice a month for family support groups. Additionally, a recreational activity takes place every other weekend.
The staff at LMR consists of BAs, LCDCs, LPCs and a BCP.
Extras
For adults who want to participate in family therapy, sessions are held every week on Thursday evenings. Upon completion of the IOP, aftercare is available for up to 12 months.
In addition to the comprehensive substance abuse treatment programs, LMR also offers a variety of other substance abuse related services to clients and community members. Other services include a DWI first offender course, a DWI education program, legal aid for those clients coming from the Drug Court and substance abuse evaluations and referrals.
In Summary
The adult IOP and the adolescent outpatient program offered by Life Management Resources are excellent options for those clients early to recovery and in need of both an introduction to the concept of 12-step principles and a well-rounded supplemental treatment plan. Both programs, and the additional services offered by the facility, allow for men, women and young people to get the help they need while still maintaining their daily professional, educational and personal obligations and lives.
