The Basics
Life Management Center of Northwest Florida has provided a variety of behavioral and mental health treatment and wellness services to the communities of the Florida Panhandle since 1954. With five locations in Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson and Washington Counties, the substance abuse treatment program offered by LMCNF is exclusively outpatient and offers crisis intervention support as well as detox.
Treatment and Staff
LMCNF provides treatment for both adults and adolescents. Both tracks are comprised of the same treatment components and include individualized treatment planning. Clients help determine the most beneficial types of therapies, the frequency of sessions each week and whether additional modalities are required. The duration of treatment is different for each client and is determined by progress. Treatment combines individual and group therapy, family therapy and relapse prevention. Clients typically meet for individual sessions once a week and group sessions are scheduled Monday through Friday with both morning and evening options available at most locations.
The 12-steps are not incorporated into treatment, however clients are strongly encouraged to attend meetings outside of the program and counselors provide referrals to local chapters if requested.
The staff at LMCNF consists of psychiatrists, Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs), LPCs, LCSWs and CASASs.
Extras
In addition to outpatient substance abuse treatment, LMCNF also offers services for a variety of other behavioral health and social programs. A 24-hour emergency care services, rehab and support for mental illness clients, children’s services, mental health counseling and foster and adoption services, a pharmacy, crisis stabilization and case management services are all available.
