Galax offers individualized care that integrates an array of therapies. While 12-step is the cornerstone of the programming, the facility also utilizes evidence-based practices like CBT as well as psychoeducation and exercise.
The multidisciplinary Galax team is comprised of a medical doctor, psychiatrist, a nursing team, licensed counselors and therapists. With both a physician and a psychiatrist on-site, medication management is available for clients in need of dual diagnosis support.
Extras
Galax offers six-hour workshops for families on weekends. Clients and their families learn about the disease of addiction, codependency, boundaries, communication and how to properly support one another.
A strong aftercare program is an integral component to the success of a long-term sustainable recovery. At Galax, every clients works with a case manager to plan their own aftercare. While referrals can be made to a sober living facility, individuals are encouraged to continue engaging in outpatient individual and group therapy, a 12-step support group and family counseling.
