Founded in 1982, the Lexington Center for Recovery is the largest substance abuse treatment facility in Hudson Valley, New York. With 13 different locations throughout Westchester, Dutchess and Rockland counties, the organization provides a number of different programs, including outpatient and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).

Treatment and Staff

While the programs vary by location, structure and treatment methods are relatively similar. Westchester County offers day programs for adults and young adults that take place five days a week and include group, individual and family therapy. Another version of the day program is called Generations and is designed specifically for pregnant and post-partum women. Psychiatric counseling may be added to any program and a MAT treatment that includes supervised doses of Suboxone and Methadone, in addition to counseling, are available as well. Duchess County provides almost all the same services along with an intensive dual diagnosis program and a focused adolescent program that uses the Seven Challenges. In all programs, clients are encouraged to attend off-site 12-step meetings.

Though the personnel may vary by location, the staff generally includes LPNs, LCSWs as well as PhDs and Master’s-level counselors. All staff is trained in evidence-based treatment methods including CBT as well as psychotherapy.

Extras

Other treatment options include anger management, yoga, life skills, HIV/AIDS, nutrition and other educational classes. Special groups covering Seeking Safety, smoking cessation and relapse prevention strategies are also available.

Stand-alone psychiatric assessments are available at all locations, as is housing assistance for veterans, chemically dependent families and the homeless. Programs for gambling addiction are also offered, as are Spanish-speaking services.

In Summary

With several locations in upstate New York, Lexington Center for Recovery provides a variety of flexible outpatient treatment for addiction and co-occurring disorders. Its additional community outreach programs and standalone psychiatric care makes Lexington Center for Recovery a solid choice for those in the area.

  1. I have a comment/ Complaint
I’m a parent to a son I will remain anonymous! Until I get answers in my investigation of a Lexington Clinic. And when I find my answer I myself will file an action suit about the center I’m investigating!! I will not say at this time what my investigation consists of. But I am very close in my investigation process.

  2. Lexington Center For Recovery in Peekskill is beyond terrible. Aside from the most rude staff I have ever encountered, the Center’s HEAD DOCTOR tells each client once they start at the clinic that they will be on methadone for the rest of their life. The totally unprofessional way of things and how they get done there is a complete joke. But the best part about this center is the availability of drugs that are sold and traded every single day 10 feet from the entrance into the building. And instead of trying to help people decrease doses and help them get off this terrible drug, the MD and staff encourage patients to increase their dosage to at least 180, which is a “stable” dose accruing to this shithole facility. Anyone who thought Newburgh was bad has no idea how that dump makes this joke of a facility look like a resort compared to this excuse of a place for “recovery”
