The Basics
Founded in 1982, the Lexington Center for Recovery is the largest substance abuse treatment facility in Hudson Valley, New York. With 13 different locations throughout Westchester, Dutchess and Rockland counties, the organization provides a number of different programs, including outpatient and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
Treatment and Staff
While the programs vary by location, structure and treatment methods are relatively similar. Westchester County offers day programs for adults and young adults that take place five days a week and include group, individual and family therapy. Another version of the day program is called Generations and is designed specifically for pregnant and post-partum women. Psychiatric counseling may be added to any program and a MAT treatment that includes supervised doses of Suboxone and Methadone, in addition to counseling, are available as well. Duchess County provides almost all the same services along with an intensive dual diagnosis program and a focused adolescent program that uses the Seven Challenges. In all programs, clients are encouraged to attend off-site 12-step meetings.
Though the personnel may vary by location, the staff generally includes LPNs, LCSWs as well as PhDs and Master’s-level counselors. All staff is trained in evidence-based treatment methods including CBT as well as psychotherapy.
Extras
Other treatment options include anger management, yoga, life skills, HIV/AIDS, nutrition and other educational classes. Special groups covering Seeking Safety, smoking cessation and relapse prevention strategies are also available.
Stand-alone psychiatric assessments are available at all locations, as is housing assistance for veterans, chemically dependent families and the homeless. Programs for gambling addiction are also offered, as are Spanish-speaking services.

With several locations in upstate New York, Lexington Center for Recovery provides a variety of flexible outpatient treatment for addiction and co-occurring disorders. Its additional community outreach programs and standalone psychiatric care makes Lexington Center for Recovery a solid choice for those in the area.
