Any Length Recovery Residences Review
Founded in 2012 by Robert White, Any Length Recovery Residences provides three gender-specific houses in Austin, Texas. Any Length has two state-certified recovery coaches on staff who provide support at no additional cost. Additionally, Any Length Recovery Residences provides a relapse prevention program for clients who seek additional care.
Accommodations and Amenities
There are two male-only houses, accommodating 13 men and one female-only house containing eight women. Clients are paired in comfortably furnished rooms. In all of the houses, furnishings are comfortable yet strategically placed to evoke a feeling of space.
The women’s house is located in Woodlands, near hiking trails and includes a swimming pool. Clients are responsible for their own groceries and meals, which are prepared in fully equipped kitchens. Each house has a live-in manager.
Rules and Regulations
At Any Lengths Recovery Residences, there is a 120- day commitment with the belief that four months will help individuals build a strong foundation in their recovery. Prior to admittance, clients should have a minimum of 28-days of sobriety after being in residential treatment. For the first 30 days, there is a strict black out period, which includes a 10 pm curfew seven nights a week. Recovery peer specialists are on hand to provide support.
After 30 days, a typical daily schedule includes a morning meditation and prayer from 6:30 am to 7 am, household chores from 7 to 8 am, morning activities from 8 to 10 am and job, community service or school attendance from 8 am to 3 pm. Requirements include attendance at four weekly 12-step meetings. Proof of attendance must be provided. Those who do not have a job, volunteer work or who are not in school must attempt to look for work or pursue their higher education during those hours. Clients are subject to random drug and alcohol screenings. There is zero tolerance for those who have relapsed.
Extras
At an additional cost, the Any Length to Avoid Relapse Prevention (ALARP) program is provided. This program is between eight and 16 weeks in length and includes a weekly individual session with White, who is an advanced certified relapse prevention specialist. The program is based on the Gorski relapse prevention plan. All of the houses are located on the Metro bus lines and are in close vicinity to the University of Texas.
