Legacy Treatment Services Review
Legacy Treatment Services is a non-profit agency that is the product of a merger between The Children’s Home and The Drenk Center, two organizations sharing the mission to serve and aid at-risk youth and community members. Located in Hainseport, New Jersey, LTS offers both residential and outpatient mental health, developmental and substance abuse recovery services in 13 counties across the state.
The POST House (Pulling Ourselves Together) provides short and long-term inpatient treatment in South New Jersey for individuals seeking treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. All treatment is evidence based using traditional therapy methods.
Food and Accommodations
Residential clients are accommodated in a large house sharing a double-occupancy room with one other client of the same gender. Each client gets their own twin-sized bed and cabinet for storing personal items. Bathrooms are communal and there is a spacious living room with a cable TV and a fully equipped kitchen. Clients help to prepare the three meals a day and dietary restrictions are taken into consideration.
Treatment and Staff
LTS offers both short and long-term residential treatment programs, basic outpatient treatment and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Treatment is individualized and clients must go through an initial assessment which determines the trajectory and focus of treatment. Individual therapy sessions are held daily and there are also two group therapy sessions per day. Group sessions cover topics such as relapse prevention, chemical dependency, coping skills, independent living skills and basic addiction education. Educational workshops are also held at least twice a week.
In addition to treatment and therapy, LTS also has community meetings and life skills presentations weekly to assist clients in forming relationships, networking skills, job training and money management. Family therapy is also offered as is medication monitoring. The 12 steps are not integrated into the program, however CBT and DBT methodologies are.
The staff at LTS consists of psychiatrists, LPCs, MFTs, LSWs and CADCs.
Extras
In addition to the substance abuse treatment programs, LTS also offers numerous other supportive services. With crisis services with short-term residential housing, general counseling services, in-home care and reunification services, prevention services and support for development disabilities, LTS aims to provide the community with stability and hope.

LTS has a no-nonsense substance abuse treatment program with a structured residential program and accompanying outpatient program that is highly individualized to the needs of each client. Through evidence-based practices and education, LTS aims to give clients a no-nonsense, structured program that covers all the bases.
