Langhorne Residential Inpatient Treatment Center was founded in 1999 in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. The facility is run by Pyramid Healthcare, a large health organization based in Pennsylvania. The organization offers residential treatment for adult women in the Langhorne area.

Accommodations and Food

Operating out of a small farmhouse, the home has a total of 15 beds with a mixture of single and double rooms. Clients are provided with a twin bed, fresh linens and some small storage space. Common areas are equipped with couches and a TV and there is a fitness room with exercise equipment.

Clients must have participated in at least one week of treatment before family members can visit them. Visitation hours are Sundays 1:30 to 3 pm or 5:30 to 7 pm. Though clients are not allowed to bring in outside electronics or any device that takes pictures, they are permitted to bring tobacco products as along as the package is unopened.

The on-site chef prepares three meals each day from a set menu; however, dietary restrictions can be accommodated. Snacks and breakfast foods are available throughout the day.

Treatment and Staff

After an initial phone call and meeting, counselors work to develop an individualized treatment plan for each client. Clients who do not have insurance can work with counselors to help secure local government financial assistance to pay for treatment. Those in need of detox are referred to an outside agency to complete that phase of recovery before beginning treatment.

The length of the program is based on the needs of the client and can range from one to six months. Treatment consists of a mixture of group and individual therapy, which uses evidence-based practices such as CBT and Motivational Interviewing (MI), as well as the 12 steps. Family therapy is available upon request. Counseling also places a great deal of focus on trauma work, life skills, Seeking Safetyrelapse prevention and gender-specific issues. Clients generally attend between two to three group meetings a day and individual sessions are scheduled as needed. Additional support and medication management is available for clients with a dual diagnosis. Yoga and meditation are also worked into treatment.

Staff members regularly take clients to outside AA/NA meetings and encourage them to find a sponsor.

Staff consists of LCSWs and LPCs.

Extras

Langhorne also regularity takes clients to the local gym to exercise and play basketball.

Although the organization does not offer a structured aftercare program, counselors work with clients with recovery planning to ensure a smooth transition after treatment. This can include helping clients find stable and safe housing, employment assistance and addressing any potential childcare issues. Clients are encouraged to continue their treatment in one of Pyramid Healthcare’s outpatient treatment programs.

Summary

Langhorne Residential Inpatient Treatment Center provides affordable and comprehensive residential treatment to women. Its wide variety of techniques and approaches to whole-person recovery allows clients focus on a spectrum of issues that may be related to their substance abuse.
