Landmark Recovery Outpatient Review
Landmark Recovery is an addiction and dual diagnosis treatment facility with one location in Indiana, and two in Kentucky. Landmark Recovery is a full service treatment facility, with the Carmel and Louisville locations offering new inpatient detox and residential tracks in addition to comprehensive outpatient programs. The Lexington facility solely offers outpatient care—a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Services include a number of therapeutic exercises and activities. Clinicians utilize both evidence-based and holistic approaches, along with 12-step and SMART Recovery support.
Treatment and Staff
A unique aspect of the treatment programs at Landmark Recovery is room and board at their facilities, even in the outpatient programs. This serves as an extra layer of support for those who don’t feel quite ready to return home after their stint in the residential level. However, remaining on campus 24 hours a day while in the outpatient programs is not required.
The PHP is a full day track that runs from 9 am to 2:30 pm, and includes an afternoon meal. While the PHP functions similarly to the residential program in terms of the daily schedule of group sessions, one main difference is there is only one individual session per week as opposed to two. Otherwise, groups cover common issues like relapse prevention, anger management, mindfulness and coping skills. The PHP also offers recreational activities, and art and music therapy.
The IOP is considered the step-down or transitional program from the inpatient treatment. This is a nine hour per week program that offers a bit of flexibility in terms of programming hours. There are three hour sessions blocks set in the morning, afternoon and evening. This allows clients to go back to work or school and still maintain their outpatient treatment. Typically clients can expect to be in the IOP for about 10 weeks, though it is possible to graduate earlier or remain in this track for longer.
During the IOP clients attend group therapy, crisis intervention, trauma-informed psychoeducation, and SMART Recovery. In addition, case management services are also provided. This can include vocational or housing assistance, as well as medical referrals.
The staff at Landmark Recovery includes Master’s-level therapists, medical doctors, RNs and LPNs.
Extras
Family therapy is available at all Landmark Recovery facilities. In addition, there are resources for connecting with Alanon and other support meetings.
The alumni program is ongoing and open to any graduates. This consists of weekly meetings and support of staff.
