Landmark Recovery Review
Landmark Recovery opened in 2016 to provide highly customized detox, residential and outpatient treatment for men in southern California. Landmark supports both 12-step and non 12-step approaches to recovery and is equipped to provide dual diagnosis support. Its detox facility is located in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles, while its residential and outpatient programs are located further south, in the beachside city of Laguna Hills.
Landmark Recovery was designed to support men through each level of care, from stabilization in detox to reintegration to independent living in outpatient treatment. However, Landmark welcomes clients at any stage of their recovery.
Accommodations and Food
Landmark’s detox residence is located on a three-acre estate in the celebrity-filled enclave of the Hollywood Hills. The craftsman-like home features six bedrooms and each client has a private room. Rooms have flat-screen TVs and there is a house phone for clients to call home (cell phones and computers are not permitted).
The home has a private chef who creates all meals according to clients’ nutritional needs and preferences. There’s also ample outdoor space where clients can meditate and relax and play basketball on a basketball court. The three-story residence has additional common areas where residents can play video games and music.
Treatment and Staff
Most clients stay in detox for five to seven days, though some may extend their time if their health requires more supervision. While in detox, clients are supervised by a physician and nursing staff. Once well enough, they can begin working with a case manager to discuss their next steps, whether residential or outpatient treatment.
Optional yoga classes are held on-site and a massage therapy is scheduled regularly. Clients in need of dual diagnosis support can consult with Landmark’s psychiatrist, and if clients wish to participate in outside 12-step or other peer support meetings, transportation can be arranged.
Extras
Many clients continue their treatment at Landmark’s residential home in Laguna Hills or enter its outpatient program at the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) level, which includes a boarding option in a sober living residence.
