Laguna Treatment Hospital is the newest residential facility in the American Addictions Centers network, which operates programs in Florida, Nevada, Louisiana and New Jersey. Located in the San Joaquin Hills of Southern California, the facility is a short distance from Laguna Beach. Accommodations and Food
The newly-renovated facility features upscale, modern accommodations. Rooms are light-filled and the living quarters have common areas where residents can watch TV, play games and read. An on-site chef prepares meals and special dietary needs can be accommodated.
Treatment and Staff
Residential treatment plans are 90 days long. Clients in need of detox stay in the detox unit for their first five to seven days of treatment. Each treatment plan is highly-customized and involves a daily schedule of group and individual therapy and psycho-education classes. The treatment team tailors therapy to the mental health needs of each client and uses a curriculum it has developed called “Embracing Change: Recovery for Life.” Motivational Interviewing (MI) is Laguna Treatment Hospital’s core therapy modality, but therapists also use CBT and REBT in sessions.
The treatment team at Laguna Treatment Hospital includes physicians, LPNs, Master’s-level therapists and addiction counselors. Laguna Treatment Hospital is a strong proponent of the 12-step framework. Residents are encouraged to attend daily on-site 12-step meetings. LTH also offers a class on how to best use the 12-step framework.
Extras
Family therapy is available and families are encouraged to visit residents several times during their stay. Laguna Treatment Hospital invests much time into customized aftercare planning, which may include identifying an outpatient program for the client and/or developing a plan to attend 12-step meetings and individual counseling.
Additionally, Laguna Treatment Hospital has a treatment guarantee for clients who have completed the 90-day program and relapse which offers an additional month of treatment at no charge.
