La Hacienda's Solutions (1)The Basics

With offices in Austin and College Station, La Hacienda’s Solutions is the outpatient branch of La Hacienda Treatment Center. It offers two convenient locations for those want a step-down after completing residential treatment at the main facility. It can also be an alternative to inpatient for those who want to continue to live and go to school or work in their community while receiving treatment. This facility chooses to approach treatment for substance abuse from a mind-body-spirit perspective. Implementing both the 12 steps and traditional talk therapy, clients get a well rounded experience.

Treatment and Staff

La Hacienda’s Solutions offers an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), with a track for adults ages 25 and above and a separate collegiate track for clients between the ages of 18 and 24. Rooted in the 12 steps, the program incorporates therapy with the philosophies of the AA/NA. Groups are kept small, typically maintaining a 10-15 client average. In addition to treating substance abuse, this facility also provides dual-diagnosis support for those with issues such as depression and anxiety. Detox is not available on-site, but those requiring it will be referred to the main facility in Hunt, Texas.

Both IOP programs meet three times a week, for three-hour sessions. Over the course of six weeks, the clients engage in rigorous group therapy. Group topics include an introduction to the 12 steps, anger management, trauma, processing, Big Book study, relapse prevention and meditation. Individual counseling and family therapy is offered once a week. Additional sessions can be added on a case-to-case basis for no additional charge.

The 12 steps play a huge role in the recovery process at this facility. Clients are educated about the steps and the history of the program during group. Big Book study takes clients into each step, explaining how they apply to everyday life. Attendance is mandatory at on-site AA/NA meetings. Clients are also required to attend local meetings and while sponsorship is not a requirement, it is strongly encouraged.

The staff at both locations is comprised of a psychiatrist and several LCDCs.

Extras

The ROPES course gives clients a chance to engage in physical activity, while learning how to trust themselves and others. Working outside in a group creates healthy bonds and teaches clients how to work within a community.

La Hacienda’s Solutions offers a family program specifically designed for for family members and significant others to address issues. In a safe, caring environment, family members can begin to explore healthy communication patterns, heal relationships, and learn how to rebuild their lives on a foundation of recovery. Program provides education classes, and group and individual counseling.

In Summary

For those looking for a well-rounded, intensive outpatient program, La Hacienda’s Solutions lives up to its promises. Clients must be open to the 12 steps, as this is the foundation of the treatment used. With the willingness to turn their lives over, a mind-body-spirit overhaul awaits them.
