The Basics
Kolpia Counseling Services is a substance abuse and mental health treatment and wellness facility that provides patient-centered recovery using a variety of therapies to treat the whole person. Located in Ashland, Oregon, Kolpia is just north of the California border. Treatment is exclusively outpatient using evidence-based methods.
Treatment and Staff
KCS offers Suboxone treatment for those with opiate and opioid addiction to help manage withdrawal symptoms. Care-givers provide medication management and doses are tapered off as the client shows improvement.
Kolpia treatment integrates a variety of modalities ensuring clients receive a well-rounded foundation for recovery. Both Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques and the Stages of Change model are utilized for treatment with goal-centered and non-judgmental counseling. Additionally, clients progress through five distinct phases of recovery: pre-contemplation, contemplation, preparation, action and maintenance. Clients work through these stages numerous times throughout their recovery, re-visiting previous stages as needed. Treatment and therapies are modified according to progress.
Treatment incorporates individual and group therapy, educational seminars and peer-supportive counseling. Individual sessions are scheduled independently, while group sessions are held daily. The 12 steps are not integrated into treatment, however clients are strongly encouraged to attend AA/NA meetings either during or after treatment.
The staff at Kolpia consists of MSs, LACs, LPCs, CADCs and LCSWs.
Extras
In addition to evidence-based practices and models, KCS also implements holistic forms of treatment such as acupuncture, yoga therapy, mindfulness meditation and mobility training. General mental-health counseling, fitness and exercise counseling for mental and physical wellness and nutrition counseling are also available.
Family services such as individual counseling, acupuncture, nutrition counseling and caregiver support education classes are also offered to family members and loved ones of clients. Additionally, KCS has licensed DUI programs for court-mandated individuals and clients.
