The Basics
Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center offers chemical dependency treatment services on an outpatient basis at its campus in San Jose, California. Specific tracks include adult, adolescent and co-dependency and detox and Suboxone services are also available to clients.
Treatment and Staff
The chemical dependency programs at Kaiser vary in length depending on the needs of the individual client. All clients must complete the “early” recovery phase, a 12-week treatment track, after which they may choose to end their treatment or continue for however long they or their counselor deems necessary.
All treatment plans are individualized, with clients participating in both individual and group therapy using CBT methods for anywhere from one to four times a week. Kaiser San Jose also has a family program and aftercare for clients wanting continued sobriety support. Clients are also encouraged—but not required—to participate in 12-step programs to support their long-term recovery.
Detox services are provided in the hospital with Suboxone available and managed by the counselors.
The staff includes medical doctors, registered nurses, CADCs and LCDCs.

Programs include health assessments, nutrition, weight loss, back-pain management, depression, insomnia, stress reduction and smoking cessation.
