Juno RetreatJuno Retreat Review

Named for Juno, the Roman goddess of women, Juno Retreat is a specialized substance abuse treatment program for women in Boynton Beach, Florida. Juno Retreat provides residential and outpatient programs with extensive dual diagnosis support and trauma-informed care. Juno Retreat is part of the Aion Recovery group, which also offers specialized treatment programs for men, LGBT clients and first responders at three other residential facilities in the Boynton and Delray Beach areas.

Accommodations and Food

The modern Juno Retreat home is able to accommodate up to 12 women in an upscale neighborhood. The two-story house has six bedrooms and four bathrooms that are shared between the clients. The common areas include a dining room, living room, large kitchen and beautiful outdoor lounge area.

All the food is included and clients are served three meals a day. The meals are prepared by the clients, who are all responsible for learning how to cook and maintaining the facility. On-site staff offers assistance with meal planning and food prep when necessary.

Treatment and Staff

In order to start the program at Juno Retreat, women must have completed detox elsewhere. The program is a minimum of 30 days, but clients can stay up to 90 days. Residents have individualized treatment plans that include daily group therapy and on-site 12-step meetings. Treatment takes place at the Aion Recovery clinical facility on weekdays, with organized group activities and required community meetings at the residential facility on weekends. They also have individual therapy at least twice a week. Visits are allowed from friends and family on weekends with the approval of the client’s primary therapist.

Groups address a variety of topics designed to meet the needs of women in recovery, including sexual abuse support, trauma, grief, parenting, healthy living and nutrition. Juno Retreat facilitates CBT and DBT, as well as family counseling and trauma/loss support. Dual diagnosis care and psychological and psychiatric services are also available.

Juno Retreat shares staff with Aion Recovery, which employs licensed psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, MFTs and registered nurses.

Extras

After completing the inpatient program, clients have the option to continue in the Aion Recovery outpatient programs for another 90 days. After that time, the treatment team helps each client create an aftercare plan. This includes up to 12 months of alumni groups and complimentary therapist check-ins.

There is a family program that includes addiction education, family therapy (available by video call for those outside the area) and information sessions. Referrals are also provided to family resources like Alanon and Alateen.

In Summary

Juno Retreat is a recovery program with a well-rounded approach to addiction treatment for women. Emphasis is placed on building healthy relationships with housemates and learning life skills and coping techniques. With the support of the larger Aion recovery network and a completely individualized approach to treatment for every woman, Juno Retreat is an asset to the Boynton Beach community.
