The Basics
JSAS Healthcare, Inc. offers treatment for substance abuse and mental health issues in Neptune, New Jersey, a small township in the Jersey shore’s Monmouth County. Services include assessments, short and long-term opiate detox, Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP) and general outpatient. Each client is treated as an individual, with plans of actions created based on their own unique needs for recovery. Using a mixture of 12-step principles and evidence-based therapies, clients learn how to live in sobriety.
Treatment and Staff
This facility provides several options of care for substance abuse. Prior to beginning treatment, clients undergo an initial evaluation to determine the level of care needed. Support for co-occurring disorders and inpatient treatment and detox are not offered.
The IOP meets Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays for three hours. The program focuses mainly on group therapy but includes one hour of individual therapy per week. Group topics include addiction education, relapse prevention, problem solving, coping skills, creativity, relaxation and parenting. Evidence-based therapies such as CBT and DBT are used frequently. The facility offers on-site AA/NA meetings and introduces the 12 steps during group. Although not a requirement of the program, clients are still encouraged to attend meetings and get a sponsor. The length of time spent in this program varies based on the individual.
Once IOP has been completed, clients can step down into general outpatient. Anything under nine hours of treatment per week is considered to be an outpatient level of care. Typically, clients come once or twice a week for groups, as well as once a week for individual therapy. Group topics are similar to those in IOP. Again, the length of time spent in general outpatient varies.
Family members are able to participate in the recovery process during an informational session on the first Wednesday evening of the month.
For those who are addicted to opiates, an outpatient methadone detox is available. The duration of treatment and medication dosage is based on individual need. The staff consists of CADCs, doctors and nurses. Group sizes range from five to 12 people.
Extras
JSAS offers additional services such as Project C.A.R.E. This is an ambulatory care program for pregnant and post-partum women that includes counseling and education. On-site HIV services are also available, as well as acupuncture, tobacco dependency assistance and free hepatitis vaccinations.
In Summary
JSAS Healthcare, Inc. gives clients several outpatient options to choose from. As they progress, clients can work their way through the programs at their own rate. Since support for co-occurring issues is not offered, this facility is best for those who are only dealing with substance abuse and chemical dependency.
