Jo Ellen Fletcher is an LMFT and addiction specialist with a CATC advanced certification in Agoura Hills, California. She works with adolescents, adults, families and couples using evidence-based modalities in both individual and group therapy settings. Treatment Approach
Fletcher approaches each client as a blank slate and takes time to get to know them in order to provide a safe and nurturing treatment environment that’s conducive to healing. Initially she urges clients to set treatment goals and as they progress through therapy those goals change and adapt to the current circumstances. She uses practical and real world exercises with her clients and is very collaborative in the process.
Fletcher uses a variety of therapeutic approaches with her clients to address mental health issues, co-dependency, and a number of addictions like alcohol, drugs, sex, internet, shopping, gambling and eating disorders. She uses mindfulness based techniques in conjunction with CBT, DBT, neurofeedback, Somatic, solution focused therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Gestalt. She also offers a specialty group that is for adult children of alcoholics. She encourages 12-step involvement if it would be useful to her clients as well. For those with a dual diagnosis, Fletcher is able to refer them to a colleague who can offer medication management services if needed.
