The Basics
Jett Morgan Treatment Services of Anchorage, Alaska is a state-certified provider of outpatient substance abuse treatment. Their services include assessments, state-certified Level I outpatient and Level II Intensive Outpatient (IOP) programs and aftercare. Rather than emphasizing the 12 steps, Jett Morgan takes a client-centered approach that focuses on empowering each individual.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning a program, clients undergo an initial assessment to determine the type of care needed. After that, each client works with a counselor to create an individualized treatment plan. The main goal of treatment is to empower and motivate clients to create healthy lives. Jett Morgan is not a 12-step based program but the 12 steps are introduced in group therapy sessions and clients are welcome to attend AA/NA meetings during their free time. Detox is not available.
Level II IOP meets for nine to 10 hours a week over a total of three to six months. After IOP, clients can step down into Level I outpatient, which meets one to eight hours per week, for one to 12 months. Both programs use evidence-based therapies including CBT and trained counselors facilitate both individual and group sessions. Group therapy topics run the gamut, including self-esteem, codependency, coping skills, relapse prevention, anger management, assertiveness, goal planning and stress reduction. Random breathalyzers and urine tests are components of both outpatient programs.
In addition to therapy, clients receive education about the dangers of drugs and alcohol. After a client has completed treatment, they can return for aftercare groups as they reintegrate into their regular lives. This includes anywhere from one to three hours of group per month for a total of three to six months. Aftercare groups are not included in the price of primary care.
The staff includes licensed chemical dependency counselors. Group sizes range from eight to 12 at a time.
Extras
Alcohol and Drug Information School (ADIS), an early intervention service for at-risk individuals, is held at least once a month. This program offers 12 hours of education spread out over the course of three days and is led by a certified ADIS instructor.

Specializing in evidence-based therapies, this program uses a personal touch to guide clients toward a life of sobriety. Rather then relying on the 12 steps, each client develops coping skills, a positive attitude and a general sense of empowerment. In all, Jett Morgan is a great program for those seeking a hands-on approach and a valuable resource for those in the region.
