Jane MintzThe Basics

Jane Eigner Mintz is a Master’s-level LPC that specializes in behavioral health, addiction and dual diagnosis interventions, but also has experience with eating disorders, gambling, sex and shopping addictions. She’s the founder of Realife Intervention Solutions, LLC, which has offices in Cleveland, Ohio and Los Angeles, California. Mintz developed an internationally recognized treatment method called The Field Model of Intervention, and travels the world working with clients and conducting training seminars.

The Background

Mintz began a career as an interventionist after 17 years of being a professional golfer and touring with the Ladies Professional Golf Association. After entering treatment for her own alcoholism, she decided to obtain her Master’s degree and pursue the behavioral health and addiction field. She opened her private practice in 2005.

The Approach

The staff of Real Life Solutions performs assessments with family members to gather as much information as possible and design a comprehensive intervention plan. The clinician will work with the family members and help coach them in using the appropriate language during the intervention and to get everyone on the same page. Mintz works with treatment centers all over the world, offering personal recommendations and referrals, and helps design treatment plans for the client and their families. She offers counseling and consulting services as well.

The treatment focus of the Field Model encompasses all aspects of the client’s life and history. It is designed to prompt even the most resistant of clients to recognize destructive behaviors and eventually make the decision to seek help. Another part of Mintz’s approach is equine therapy that she integrates into her coaching as often as possible. When possible, this is accomplished through a two-day equine therapy immersion for clients and their families.

Mintz also offers traditional counseling services for the individual and their families and is able to do Skype sessions if the client doesn’t live near the facility. Additionally, Mintz leads a three-month life-coaching seminar. Mintz trains and supervises interventionists all over the world and conducts clinical staff training at treatment centers and lectures at universities and conferences. To date, she has trained over 350 interventionists and supporting clinicians.

Post-Intervention and Summary

Jane Mintz brings invaluable personal experience to her practice in addition to her therapeutic background. By offering resources to the family as well as the individual going into treatment, clients receive highly effective help.
