The Basics

The CARF-accredited Intensive Treatment Systems (ITS) is a treatment facility with three locations in Phoenix, Arizona. The organization specializes in the care of clients struggling with an addiction to opioids like heroin, fentanyl and hydrocodone. ITS offers a comprehensive Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and a standard outpatient programs that combine Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), evidence-based therapy and case management to help the client achieve a drug-free lifestyle.

Treatment and Staff

Incoming clients must submit a comprehensive pre-screening assessment either online or over the phone. At intake, individuals meet with a clinician and a medical provider to determine the medical dosage. Clients benefit from individualized care plans customized to meet the individual’s unique needs. Through an integrative treatment approach, ITS provides “whole client” care to heal the root cause of addiction. To achieve this, the treatment team facilitates MAT as well as counseling and case management services.

The IOP integrates an array of evidence-based therapeutic methods. In addition to providing Naloxone and Methadone for individuals addicted to heroin and prescription pain pills, the facility also offers psychoeducation, relapse prevention and life skills training. Clients also engage in individual, group and family therapy with therapists trained in CBT, Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and multidimensional family therapy.

Intensive Treatment Systems employs a team made up of physicians, clinicians, clinic managers, addiction specialists and a nursing team. The facility will also soon be adding an in-house psychiatrist to the staff.

Extras

ITS provides specialized care for pregnant clients through the use of methadone maintenance treatment (MMT) to prevent the client from experiencing withdrawal, and avoid for the potential for birth defects. Grant funding  is available for pregnant women without insurance.
