The Basics
Integrity Counseling is a state licensed substance abuse treatment facility for adults. Located in Pinellas County, Florida with locations in Clearwater, Countryside and Dunedin, the facilities offer evaluations, individual, family and couples therapy, as well as weekly outpatient groups. Using evidence-based therapies and the 12 steps, clients are given a path towards sobriety.
Treatment and Staff
Integrity Counseling offers flexible weekly group and individual therapy schedules for those in their substance abuse treatment program. Following an initial evaluation that takes a person’s biological, psychological, environmental and social needs into account, individualized treatment plans are developed for each client. Detox is not offered but referrals can be provided when necessary.
The weekly outpatient group offers a low intensity approach to recovery. Clients meet for two hours each week, focusing on topics such as relapse prevention, anger management, an introduction to the 12 steps, healthy communication and life skills. Evidence-based therapies such as CBT and DBT are used frequently, teaching clients healthier patterns of thinking and behaving. While all clients are also encouraged to attend AA/NA meetings during their free time, these are not required.
Clients have access to individual therapy sessions as needed. Each session runs for 45 to 60 minutes and covers coping skills, communication and relapse prevention. Support for co-occurring mental health issues such as depression and anxiety can be addressed during these sessions as well. Individual therapy can be done in conjunction with outpatient or as its own form of treatment. Those who are new to sobriety usually start out with at least one session a week, gradually decreasing as they feel more stable. Still, there are no fixed rules about how many times clients can meet with counselors per week.
The staff includes six professionals, among them Master’s-level therapists, LCSWs and licensed mental health counselors. Groups never exceed 10 clients at a time.
Extras
Integrity Counseling offers EMDR for trauma when necessary. They also offer DUI evaluations and treatment, interventions and discreet substance abuse services for those in the business sector.
In Summary
In all, Integrity Counseling brings quality care to those suffering from substance abuse. While their treatment is not necessarily intensive, they offer a flexible range of treatment plans, all of them affordable. With both a small staff and client load, each client receives personalized attention and focused care.
