Inland Valley Recovery Services Outpatient Review
Founded in 1962 in Upland, California, Inland Valley Recovery Services is a community-oriented, non-profit organization. Originally incorporated as Counseling Associates, the company has since grown to encompass a full range of behavioral health programs for adolescents, adults and families. In addition to its residential treatment program and sober living, the facility also provides flexible outpatient care for those struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, clients go through an initial intake and assessment process to help staff members develop their treatment plans. Those in need of detox can do so on-site with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) available as necessary. The process includes 24-hour supervision and generally lasts for seven to 10 days.
Once stabilized, clients continue on to outpatient therapy in either Upland or San Bernardino. Though each program varies depending on clients’ needs, each generally lasts for 90 days with meetings several times a week. Treatment includes individual and group therapy with evidence-based practices including CBT and DBT. In addition to therapy, the program also stresses peer support in the recovery process as well as mandatory 12-step participation. The curriculum also includes Terence Gorski’s Relapse Prevention program as well as teachings from the Matrix Model. Groups cover a range of topics including addiction education, vocational help, family therapy, anger management and domestic violence. Basic dual diagnosis support is provided as well. While outpatient programs for adults and adolescents may differ, each generally adheres to the same teachings.
The staff at Inland Valley Recovery Services consists of LMFTs, CADCs, case managers, LMHCs, RNs, psychiatrists and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
The organization also offers a wide array of enrichment classes for adults and adolescents covering rotating topics like anger management and domestic abuse. A juvenile drug court program is available as are early intervention services and family therapy groups. Those in need of aftercare can also work with staff members to step down the intensity of their care plans.
