Malibu CaliforniaInfinity Malibu Review

Infinity Treatment Center is an upscale residential treatment facility located in the idyllic ocean community of Malibu, California. The facility’s CEO, George Boyadzhyan, is himself in recovery and has extensive experience running and operating recovery facilities that focus on personalized recovery experiences for clients. Treatment at Infinity incorporates evidence-based methods like DBT to facilitate positive changes in each client’s life as well as 12-step concepts and principles to foster a spiritual transformation. All clients are supported 24/7 during their stay at Infinity and are also given access to a range of holistic treatment methods to support their initial steps in recovery and sustain lasting wellness.

Infinity Treatment Centers are part of the New Vista Behavioral Health network and also operate facilities in Agoura Hills and Tarzana, California.

Accommodations and Food

Infinity clients are accommodated in a luxurious two-story Spanish-style home with floor-to-ceiling windows affording dramatic views of the Pacific Ocean. The landscaped grounds have comfortable seating areas, a gazebo, fire pit and tables for dining al fresco and socializing. Smoking is permitted only within designated outdoor areas.

Inside, the home has an open floor plan with vaulted ceilings and contemporary décor. The first floor common areas include a grand foyer with a circular staircase, a fully-equipped state-of-the-art kitchen and formal dining and living rooms. A baby grand piano is available for client use and a media area features a large flat screen TV, comfortable couches and a fireplace. A small on-site gym with weights and exercise machines is also available for client use. The kitchen has high-end appliances and is operated by a private chef who provides healthy meals for the clients.

Upstairs there are three double-occupancy bedrooms with two queen-sized beds allowing a total of six residents housed at a time. Staff also sleep on-site to provide round-the-clock care and support. Semi-private bedrooms are available for an extra cost with queen-sized beds and private bathrooms. Each bedroom has ample closet and storage space for personal belongings. Bathrooms have sunken tubs and separate tiled showers with linens and towels provided.

Treatment and Staff

Infinity Malibu provides a natural environment that is focused and free of distractions. Potential clients can call to schedule an appointment for a bio-psycho-social assessment with an intake professional to give staff an accurate idea of the acuity of the client’s substance abuse. If clients require detox, they first go through Infinity’s medically supervised program which includes day and night monitoring by clinical staff. In the event that the client is in need of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), Suboxone or other medications specifically designed for opiate withdrawal symptoms are prescribed. Once clients have safely detoxed, they begin the primary program.

A typical day begins with a 7:30 am wake-up call followed by a group meditation. Breakfast is served by the staff chef after which clients begin their treatment with a group session. Next, they participate in a yoga class with a private instructor followed by lunch then individual sessions. Before dinner, clients are given some downtime for personal reflection, socialization or recreation. In the evenings, they’re transported to an off-site AA/NA meeting followed by an evening wrap-up group before lights-out.

All therapists utilize DBT techniques to heighten the awareness of the resident and to draw attention to their negative and damaging behaviors and actions. Each client attends group therapy on a daily basis with topics including relapse prevention, anger management, trauma and spirituality. Twelve-step principles are also incorporated into groups in a non-denominational format. Clients attend AA/NA meetings on a regular basis to further build a community of peers in recovery.

Individual therapy is another essential component to the client’s progress at Infinity. Each client has an individualized recovery plan that addresses their unique needs. Dual diagnosis support is available for those with additional mental health concerns. The experienced staff members are certified to also address other process addictions including gambling, eating disorders, codependency and sex addictions. Staff also incorporate holistic methods to assist the healing process of the mind, body and spirit.

Staff credentials include a licensed psychotherapist, physician, CSACs, MFTs and LPCs. A nutritionist is also on staff to help clients learn how to fuel their bodies in a healthy way. Residential technicians are always on staff to assist clients throughout their treatment process. There’s a total of 12 staff members.

Extras

Infinity also offers alternative forms of therapy including equine therapy and yoga to help foster confidence and positive relationships.

The family is highly involved in the client’s process of recovery. A family program helps educate loved ones about the addiction process. Families are also encouraged to attend Alanon meetings to further solidify a support network and knowledge of codependency.

In Summary

Infinity Malibu is a brand new high-end facility that emphasizes individualized treatment. Detox and MAT are available prior to beginning treatment and all group and individual sessions combine evidence-based and holistic therapies. The knowledgeable and credentialed staff are available 24/7 to provide security and guidance. For those seeking luxury accommodations with world-class views and a solid traditional residential program, Infinity may be a good fit.
