Indio Center for Change Review
Based out of Cathedral City, California, Indio Center for Change is an outpatient program for alcohol and drug dependency. As a subsidiary of Mental Health Systems, an expansive behavioral health organization since 1978, the program provides affordable treatment for court-ordered clientele. It’s Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are aimed at family preservation; helping addicted parents, families marked as having risk factors or parents with at-risk children up to 18 years old.
Treatment and Staff
Clients can be referred for treatment from a number of different agencies; including Child Protective Services (CPS), Family Law Court and Juvenile Dependency Court. Though individual programs vary according to court stipulations, treatment works within the structure of individual and group therapy using evidence-based methods such as solution focused therapy, CBT and REBT. Groups address gender-specific issues, anger management, domestic violence, life skills, emotional processing and relapse prevention. All clients are required to attend regular 12-step meetings in accordance with court guidelines.
Staff includes LMFTs, LADCs and Master’s-level counselors.
Extras
Indio Center for Change also offers HIV/AIDS testing services, referrals to Planned Parenthood and other various family support services. The facility also has a 12-week Nurturing Families program that focuses on parenting classes and creating a safe environment for children.
In Summary
In all, Indio Center for Change offers affordable and family-oriented treatment to court-ordered clients. Though limited to those who qualify, programs employ a balance of evidence-based modalities, educational groups and local 12-step support.
