Independence House Outpatient Review
Based out of Denver, Colorado, Independence House is a modest drug and alcohol treatment facility with a range of flexible services for adult men and women. Aside from its residential treatment options, the facility also provides outpatient programs for clients in early recovery.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, all clients must go through an initial intake and assessment process to help staff members develop their individualized treatment plans. Both standard and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are available and clients attend the program that best suits their needs. While specifics of each plan varies, all treatment works within the structure of individual and group therapy that uses evidence-based practices, such as CBT, DBT and Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT). Duration of treatment is determined by each client’s individual plan.
Dual diagnosis support with medication management is available for clients with co-occurring disorders. Though encouraged, 12-step meetings are not required as a part of treatment. Those requiring detox must receive a referral for an outside facility and complete this process prior to beginning outpatient treatment at Independence House.
The staff at Independence House consists of LMHCs, LCSWs, LACs, CADCs and Master’s-level counselors.
Extras
In addition to the above, the organization provides a number of standalone groups covering topics including relapse prevention, anger management, domestic violence and other related issues. Those with DUI/DWI convictions can also attend classes here.
