The Basics

Incentives Recovery House is a transitional living program in Boca Raton, Florida that offers 12-step and job support services for adults who need an intermittent step before returning home after a residential treatment. Clients are required to participate in a structured daily schedule, do step work and find a sponsor while re-acclimating themselves back into their communities. Incentives was originally established in 1996 as a way to provide men and women in recovery a safe place to get back on their feet.

Accommodations and Amenities

There are two apartments where clients reside during their time at Incentives known as Palomar and Bougainvillea. Both of these locations are one or two bedrooms units that fit two to a bedrooms. The units are fully furnished with twin beds, dressers, stocked kitchens with dining nooks, and living rooms complete with comfy couches and televisions with cable. All linens and towels are provided by the facility and there are on-site washers and dryers available. The only main difference between these buildings is that Bouganvilla has a swimming pool.

Both of these buildings are close to beaches, parks and shopping centers as well as being conveniently close to a public transportation hub. They are also within walking distance of both the university and community colleges.

Rules and Regulations

At the very beginning clients have a bit of a blackout period where they’re monitored and don’t make calls or leave the premises by themselves. Once this stage is over, after about a week or so, they are able to leave the house to look for work or start taking classes. Any prescription medicine has to be reported and clients are not allowed to share any of their meds with any other clients. There are also weekly drug screenings clients have to agree to or else they can’t stay.

There is a weekday and weekend curfew of 11 pm and midnight, and every Sunday night at 6 pm there is a community speaker who holds lectures that are mandatory. Attending AA or NA meetings several times a week is also a requirement and fully participating in the fellowship of getting a sponsor and working the steps is a necessity. There are over 200 meetings in the area at any given time, so clients have a say in where they go. Since Incentives has been within the community for a long time, they have established several relationships with business owners all over town and are able to help their clients with job placement during their stay.

Incentives is operated by a small staff who are CACs with over 20 years experience working with clients in the addiction field, and are also sober themselves.

Extras

Clients are able to participate in a number of sober outings during their stay that include fishing trips, community picnics, AA and NA events, sporting events, and holiday parties.

In Summary

Incentives Recovery House is a sober living facility that encourages their clients to relearn how to be accountable and take responsibility for themselves within a supportive and structured setting. There is an emphasis on the sober lifestyle in addition to have the help from staff who have not only gone through the experience of getting sober themselves but have been in recovery for a long time.
