The facility provides a structured PHP that is ideal for individuals either transitioning into or out of the residential program, as well as clients that need consistent care but cannot make the time commitment required for inpatient treatment. The PHP schedule includes therapy three days a week, so participants can not only spend nights at home but also can continue working or going to school.
Sophrosyne incorporates psychological, physical, social and spiritual components into a holistic, integrative curriculum. The facility employs a client-centered model of care that includes evidence-based therapeutic models, holistic approaches, recreation, psychoeducation and 12-step. Clients engage in regular individual therapy and group therapy sessions three days a week. Holistic practices include meditation, yoga, Reiki, art and music therapy. Sophrosyne also offers a number of virtual therapeutic services including an array of psychoeducation courses on trauma, self-care, addiction, communication, general wellness and relapse prevention. In addition, women participate in regular 12-step meetings.
Sophrosyne employs nurses, case workers and addiction specialists. While co-occurring trauma is treated, medication management is not a component of the programming.
