House of Mercy Outpatient Review
House of Mercy is a non-profit treatment organization with outpatient facilities located in the capital city of Des Moines, Iowa as well as in the smaller cities of Newton and Indianola. It offers comprehensive outpatient services for male and female clients of all ages recovering from alcohol and substance use disorders and surface addictions like gambling. Treatment and Staff
Before beginning treatment, individuals undergo a comprehensive assessment that determines the most effective personalized care strategy customized to their needs, goals and schedule. Scheduling is flexible so clients can engage in regular therapy without missing work or school.
The treatment team integrates evidence-based therapy, 12-step, psychiatric assessments and nutrition education. Clients engage in individual, group and family therapy as well as workshops that focus on relapse prevention. House of Mercy provides Parent-Child Interaction therapy that helps parents and children decrease behavior problems while improving parenting skills. Parents are taught effective techniques and children learn cooperation.
