Horizon Behavioral Health Review
Horizon Behavioral Health is a treatment organization with three outpatient facilities in southeast Georgia. Horizon specializes in the care of clients struggling with substance use disorders, learning disorders and mental health issues. Founded in 2011, Horizon offers a multi-faceted treatment approach that integrates several therapeutic methods including individual and family therapy rooted in evidence-based modalities, psychological and psychiatric assessments, medication management and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).
Treatment and Staff
Horizon facilities offer individualized treatment programs that are tailored to meet the unique needs of the client. Before beginning treatment, clients undergo a comprehensive assessment process that helps to determine the most effective plan going forward. Throughout treatment, the team continually updates and adjusts the client’s care plan with the newest information. While the length of care varies depending on the specific needs of the individual client, TMS participants typically engage in five sessions a week for between a month and six weeks. Each session lasts between 20 and 40 minutes.
The facility employs a holistic model of care that includes evidence-based therapies, medication management, psychological assessments and TMS. Clients engage in individual, group and family therapy with therapists trained in CBT, MET and EMDR to treat trauma as a component of a client’s current mental health condition. Twelve-step is not integrated into treatment here.
Horizon is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of MDs, PsyDs, PhDs, Master’s-level counselors, nurse practitioners and social workers. Medication management is available for clients with co-occurring disorders in need of dual diagnosis support.

Horizon locations are located in close proximity to Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. As such, the facilities treat a number of veterans. Horizon accepts TRICARE, the healthcare program for uniformed service members.
