HopeQuest Group Ministries Outpatient Review
Based out of Woodstock, Georgia, HopeQuest Group Ministries is a fully Christian-oriented rehab program that offers treatment for individuals struggling with addiction and co-occurring disorders. Its main program is residential treatment for males only but it also offers several outpatient support group tracks specifically for men dealing with sex addiction and related behavioral health issues.
Treatment and Staff
Before beginning a program, all clients go through an intake and assessment process to help the staff members get to know them better. As an outpatient and non-medical program, on-site detox services are not available (though referrals can be provided upon request). Once accepted, clients can attend either the Walking Free group for men or the Journey support group for women, both aimed at treating sex addiction. While Walking Free is expressly for treating problem behaviors, the Journey group is less of a treatment program and more of a support group for those with husbands or partners in the program.
Participants attend small groups of six to eight men discussing their shared experiences as well as the Christian path towards sexual integrity. Clients also buy a Building for Freedom workbook, which lasts for 15 weeks and explains how to examine one’s own negative behavior. Each group includes time for devotion and prayer as well as clinical teachings touching on the neuroscience of addiction. Though the program is not explicitly 12-step oriented, those in need can get referrals to nearby meetings as necessary.
The staff at HopeQuest Ministry consists of CADCs, LPCs, LMFTs, case managers, chaplains and additional Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
The facility also offers leadership workshops and editorial materials to help other individuals start their own support groups and Christian ministries as necessary. Other options include crisis counseling and rotating workshops and retreats, some of which focus on couples and marriage counseling. Those who complete a primary care regimen can also work with the staff to develop aftercare and accountability plans. As mentioned, the organization also has a more intensive residential program available exclusively to men.
