Honey Recovery Rimpau House Review
Honey Recovery, a Los Angeles based treatment facility, offers a structured transitional living program in partnership with Beit Hillel Sobriety known as Rimpau House. This men’s only facility requires accountability and a strong foothold within the 12-step community. For clients who are newer in their recovery, outpatient treatment programs can be arranged as well.
Accommodations and Amenities
Rimpau House is located in Culver City, a bustling section of Los Angeles close to both Venice and Santa Monica. The neighborhood has plenty of shops and restaurants, along with movie theaters and parks. There is also the LA Metro station nearby for those who are in need of simple public transportation. Up to 10 clients reside in a two-story, recently remodeled home that offers five bedrooms and three bathrooms. The rooms are double occupancy with plenty of space for storage and personal items. The home features a flat screen HD television, kitchen and dining room, and laundry facilities on-site. There is also a backyard with workout equipment and weights.
Food is included in each clients montly fee, but clients have to make meals for themselves.
Rules and Regulations
All new clients have to be sober for 30 days before they’re allowed to be admitted, and for the most part, clients are coming straight from a residential program. There is a minimum requirement of attending at least two AA or NA meetings per week and have a sponsor. In some cases, the clients have to get their meeting attendance verified. There are frequent, random UAs given in the house, and if the client refuses, they are dismissed.
There are also weekly house meetings that are mandatory for everyone, and every client must either be actively looking for a full time job, be working or be enrolled in school within the first four weeks of occupancy.
For clients with co-occurring disorders, medication is allowed as long as the client can administer it themselves and house staff knows about it. There is a daily curfew of 11 pm during the week, and weekends are midnight, unless the client gives ample notice to the house manager that they will be late. There are also overnight passes provided with written consent.
Extras
If an outpatient program is needed, the facility is able to connect their clients to a treatment facility that has therapy and medication management services.
Visitors can stop by anytime between 9 am to 9 pm daily, however there are no overnight guests and they have to follow the house rules.
In Summary
Rimpau House is highly structured, and it provides just the right amount of stability and safely for the men who live there. This program gives accountability and focus to each clients’ life that will carry over into life outside the house.
