Honey Recovery Center of Los Angeles offers individualized treatment and 12-step support for adult men. The recovery protocol at Honey Recovery utilizes a combination of structured transitional living and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). Treatment includes medication management, group and individual therapy and dual diagnosis care using a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities.
Treatment and Staff
The individualized programs that Honey Recovery offers assess each client’s specific needs on a flexible treatment schedule that accommodates work or school commitments. The combination of structured sober living and IOP is best suited for those who are already physically and mentally stable and the typical client has already completed an inpatient program. Honey Recovery does not offer detox, but has co-operative relationships with a number of local facilities that can provide off-site detox.
Depending on each client’s program, they can attend IOP treatment nine or more hours per week. These hours are comprised of group and individual therapy, psychoeducation and life skills lectures. Peer support groups like AA, NA and SMART Recovery meetings are incorporated into the schedule and there are on-site meetings at the outpatient facility at least three times a week. Two additional off-site meetings are required in order to stay in the program.
Therapeutic approaches include CBT, DBT, Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET) and contingency management therapy. Relapse prevention and coping skills classes, vocational and goal attainment coaching are also incorporated into every client’s treatment plan.
Medication management services are offered for co-occurring disorders by a consulting medical professional. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is also available for clients who have gone through a detox process prior to admission to the IOP and need a maintenance program for cravings, such as Naltrexone and Buprenorphine. Staff includes CADCs, LCSWs, case managers and peer support volunteers.
Random drug testing is provided on-site by staff. There is also transportation provided to appointments and meetings if needed.
Honey Recovery operates two separate sober living facilities throughout Los Angeles through Beit Hillel Sobriety. Clients live in comfortable, spacious homes that offer a variety of amenities and structure. Food is included, but clients are expected to prepare their own meals.
Honey Recovery’s main focus is giving their male clients a drug and alcohol free zone that offers continued structured support to ease into a life of accountability and sobriety on their own. This is a great option for men in LA seeking a safe jumping off point for recovery.
