Homeward Pikes Peak Review
Homeward Pikes Peak is a multi level treatment program located in Colorado Springs. Programming at Homeward Pikes Peak includes inpatient and outpatient care for a variety of groups, such as pregnant women or new mothers, veterans, and the local homeless population. These programs offer a number of therapeutic approaches that address issues like addiction and trauma. Clients can expect 12-step support, holistic treatment, evidence-based modalities, and education. In addition, many of these services are gender-specific. A majority of these treatments available either at a drastically reduced rate, or totally free.
Accommodations and Food
Homeward Pikes Peak’s housing programs includes Housing First, Veteran Specific Housing, Harbor House and Bloom Recovery Home. Combined, these programs offer about 100 beds for those who are homeless or struggling with addiction. The housing consists of multi unit apartments and town homes that offer safe and private residences.
Bedrooms feature full beds with new mattresses and linens. They also have kitchenette areas and their own bathrooms.
A good deal of the meals come through donations. As clients move through the program, they are able to obtain employment and buy their own food.
Treatment and Staff
The main focus at Homeward Pikes Peak is for clients to gain self efficiency and be able to function on their own. The Harbor House program includes up to 18 months of housing while maintaining abstinence, and attending an intensive outpatient program.
Elements of Homeward Pikes Peak programming includes individual and group therapy, recovery support through 12-step or similar meetings, family restoration, life skills training and employment services.
The Harbor House Clinic is an outpatient program that caters to women who have struggled with substance abuse. It provides therapy, parenting and baby classes, and child care. Other gender-specific services provided by HPP are Project Detour, which is a sober living community dedicated to helping women who have either experienced homelessness or are at risk for homelessness due to their substance abuse disorder, and Bloom Recovery Home, a sober living environment for pregnant women or mothers of young infants.
Treatment includes medication management, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), relapse prevention, Motivational Enhancement Therapy (MET), Motivational Interviewing (MI), CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based approaches.
The staff of includes case managers, LCSWs, therapists, educators, and medical professionals.

The goal is fostering a stable, substance-free living situation so they may adjust to sobriety seamlessly. There are several employment opportunities and community outreach offerings at every level, and clients are able to hold their heads up high as they move through life with a sense of empowerment, due to them taking their lives not their own hands and making the right choices.
