Treatment and Staff
Upon intake, clients undergo a comprehensive assessment that determines the unique needs of the individual. A customized treatment strategy is designed based off these results. When necessary, clients transition immediately into the detox program. Homeward Bound offers a comprehensive medical detox that includes crisis stabilization, an around-the-clock nursing team and medication to curb painful withdrawal effects. Detox typically lasts between five and seven days. Upon completion, residents generally transition into the residential phase, where clients can stay between 14 and 28 days.
Homeward Bound employs a multi-faceted approach to treatment that integrates a number of therapeutic methods including psychiatric services, life skills training and evidence-based practices. Clients engage in individual, group and family therapy rooted in CBT, anger management classes, parenting workshops, relapse prevention and 12-step support meetings. In addition, there is a specialized program for women with children.
The Homeward Bound team is comprised of therapists, physicians, nurses, counselors and peer support coaches. Medication management is available for residents in need of dual diagnosis support for co-occurring disorders.
