Hollywood Detox Center Review
Based in Hollywood, California, Hollywood Detox Center is a residential detox program under Blvd Treatment Centers that offers individualized and holistic care. Specializing in all chemical dependency detoxification, clients can choose to use the detox as a standalone service or opt to stay on for treatment (in which detox would be included in the price).
Accommodations and Food
The spacious and renovated Victorian house has a total of 18 beds, with both private and semi-private rooms available. However, residents never share their space with more than one other client. Rooms have modern decorations, plush bedding, storage space and cable TV. The house also has WiFi, a computer workstation and a smoking area. The program features gourmet meal plans, prepared by an in-house chef (who graduated from Le Cordon Bleu) that focus on nutrition as well as taste. All meal plans can be adjusted to accommodate food restrictions and special diets.
Treatment and Staff
After an initial intake, clients work with staff to develop individualized treatment plans that include individual and group therapy using evidence-based practices and holistic techniques, like guided meditation, yoga, massage therapy, hypnotherapy and physical exercise. Clients are also encouraged to seek support in outside groups, including (but not limited to) AA/NA, SMART Recovery and Buddhist-themed groups. Clients with co-occurring disorders receive medication and case management as well as additional nursing services.
Staff includes physicians, psychiatrists, LPCs, massage therapists, MFTs and other Master’s-level clinicians.
Extras
Additional services include a smoking cessation program, nursing education groups, nutrition classes and cold laser therapy for an additional fee. Those who enroll at Hollywood Detox Center are expected to stay until at least the detox process is completed, with aftercare planning services and referrals for further treatment also available.
In Summary
Overall, Hollywood Detox Center is a well-equipped detox and residential treatment facility for alcohol and drug addiction—making it a one-stop shop for many. With a nice balance of evidence-based and holistic care, the program keeps an open mind when designing individual recovery plans. Though structured, it also allows space for clients to seek out and begin to build their own outside support network. While the month-long program may not be long enough for some, Hollywood Detox Center is certainly a great place to begin the recovery process.
