The Hoag Addiction Treatment outpatient programs of Newport Beach and Irvine, California, offer a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and continued aftercare for adults. It uses evidence-based treatment in conjunction with 12-step recovery, as well as specialized group therapy that focuses on co-occurring disorders.
Treatment and Staff
The PHP is a full-day outpatient track from 8:30 am to 4 pm, five days a week. The IOP is offered in either the day or evening slots; with morning meetings six days a week for up to six hours a day and evening sessions meeting four days a week for three hours at a time. The IOP often serves as step-down treatment from PHP, while a standard outpatient track that gradually lessens in treatment hours, serves as a transitional step for clients who are focused on acclimating back into their communities.
Treatment employs CBT within structured group and individual therapy. Some groups focus on psychoeducation, relapse prevention or gender-specific issues. There are also daily 12-step meetings and relaxation activities. Hoag also offers specialized groups for working professionals, clients with a dual diagnosis and young adults. .
Staff includes a medical director, certified clinical supervisors and LCSWs.

Hoag offers a week-long intensive family program that includes education, counseling and skills training with ongoing individual and group sessions. In addition, the facility offers an active alumni program for graduates that includes meet-ups, meetings and other activities.
