Hinds Behavioral Health Services Review
Hinds Behavioral Health Services, a rehabilitation facility in Jackson, Mississippi, has been serving the citizens of Jackson and the surrounding towns of Hinds County since 1971. With an array of mental health and substance abuse services, HBHS offers outpatient treatment catered toward adolescents, adults and families dealing with both addiction and dual-diagnosis issues.
Treatment and Staff
HBHS develops individualized treatment plans for each client based on an initial evaluation. After the intake, it’s up to the client how many days of treatment they would like to receive a week, and for how long. While it does not offer detox, referrals can be provided if necessary.
HBHS offers 12-step meetings twice a week, along with group and individual therapy. Therapists at the facility are trained to cover a number of modalities in order to provide the client with the most helpful therapeutic experience, so methods like CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI) or trauma-informed practices are implemented. Group sessions, which vary in size depending on the day, but never exceed 10 clients per group, cover relapse prevention and life skills training. Co-occurring disorder clients have the option of medication management as well.
The staff at HBHS is a caring group of psychiatrists, psychologists, LADCs, therapists and peer counselors.
Extras
HBHS also offers a family program consisting of education and therapy. Dual-diagnosis screening services at the facility are open to clients on request. Additionally, extensive outreach and resources in the community are provided.
In Summary
Hinds Behavioral Health Services gives clients the freedom to decide what’s right for them in terms of addiction treatment. Rather than structured programs, it is truly up to the individual to decide what they need and make the leap, which may prove to be the best approach for lasting recovery.
