Treatment and Staff
Treatment at Hillcrest is broken down into three phases; Assessment and Stabilization, Recovery and Aftercare. The first phase typically lasts about a week, with the clients working with the counseling staff to prepare them for the structured schedule while in treatment. During this stage, the clients get a run down of a typical day in the program and participate in daily group therapy. The next phase lasts about 30 days and consists of group and individual therapy, as well as psychoeducational groups and classes, and working on self-care. The final stage of aftercare is about 14 weeks of outpatient group relapse prevention counseling.
Treatment modalities include both traditional and holistic methods like CBT, reality therapy, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Alternative treatment options are available upon request, like art therapy and equine therapy. Mindfulness and mediation practice and nutrition are also focused on with each client as well as establishing healthy boundaries and communication skills. The staff at Hillcrest brings experience to their clients and offer an array of qualifications in the field of addiction that include CADCs, CSWs and LPCs.

A state of the art fitness center is available to all residents. It contains machines and weights and has space for yoga and daily meditation, and the game room includes ping-pong and pool tables.
During the 30 days of treatment, family members of clients are welcome to attend the two-day intensive family program which is designed to educate loved ones about the disease of addiction and learn valuable coping skills of their own.
