Here’s Hope Counseling review
Here’s Hope Counseling operates two outpatient clinics that provide substance abuse programs to both court-ordered and self-referred clients, with facilities located in Union City and Dyersburg, Tennessee. Services at both locations include Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) and standard outpatient treatment with group and individual therapy sessions. Participation in a 12-step program is also part of the protocol.
Treatment and Staff
Treatment at HHC begins with an alcohol and drug assessment with a clinician. From there, an individualized treatment plan is established to determine the frequency of group therapy sessions. Aside from groups, clients also attend an hour-long individual therapy session once a week. Those dealing with co-occurring disorders can be provided referrals for medication management services when necessary.
Programs at HHC are customized to suit each individual’s needs. Group therapy sessions are offered for three hours at a time in the morning and evening hours. At Union City these groups are held on Tuesdays at 9 am and 5 pm, Thursdays at 5 pm and Saturdays at 9 am. The Dyersburg office, on the other hand, offers groups on Mondays at 9 am, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9 am and 5 pm and Saturdays at 9:30 am.
LADCs lead all group sessions, covering topics such as substance abuse education, relapse prevention, coping skills, 12-step principles and the disease model of addiction. Treatment techniques include evidence-based modalities like CBT and DBT. Participation in a 12-step program is required as well, with clients attending both on and off-site AA/NA meetings. They are also advised to get a sponsor to help them work through the steps.
Extras
Clients also have access to DUI and parenting classes. Parenting classes are offered every second Saturday of the month. Anger management and domestic violence support is also available in the form of individual therapy sessions scheduled as needed.

At Here’s Hope Counseling, clients are offered structured support, access to 12-step meetings and all the necessary tools to start living sober. The intensity of each treatment program is based on the individual’s needs, with the option of attending up to 12 hours of group therapy a week. While the program lacks formal support for clients with co-occurring disorders, Here’s Hope Counseling remains a good resource for those seeking basic outpatient care.
